ABOUT THE PTA REFLECTIONS ARTS CONTEST

Explore the Arts and Express Yourself

National PTA's Reflections program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts which boost student confidence and success in the arts and in life.

Each year, over 300,000 students in Pre-K through Grade 12 create original works of art in response to a student-selected theme. This year, over 25,000 students from the state of California participated in the Reflections contest. For more than half a century, this program has helped young people explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life.

At the beginning of the school year, a date in November will be announced when submissions will be due. Student work will be judged within its category by a professional currently working in that category's field. The PTA Reflections Arts Program provides an opportunity for student creative work, inspired by a designated theme, to be recognized at the local, district, state, and national levels.

All of Carlmont student submissions are celebrated in an exhibit to recognize their creative contribution to both the Reflections Arts Contest and their community! This year, that celebration took place during Carlmont's May 25th PTSA meeting and with this website. Next year, we plan to resume the traditional in-person exhibit on campus. Hope to see you there!
